Annual RPD Gives for the Holidays

Updated: Feb 15, 2022

The RPD Gives for the Holidays program this year was conducted in the same fashion as in 2020. We chose to take the gifts to the children, rather than bring the children to the gifts. Our community partners with Fulton County Schools and our local faith-based community identified these families as being in need this Holiday season.

o Twenty Roswell families were served during the course of the program. This means 103 people received gifts for the holidays.

o 605 gifts were purchased and wrapped for the families.

o Alongside Community Relations Officers, RPD Staff volunteers and Friends of Roswell Police volunteers spent 2 weeks wrapping all of the gifts.

o 103 grocery gift cards were provided to the program families, totaling nearly $2600.00 worth of groceries.

o Seven of the 20 families were adopted by RPD Staff meaning that they shopped with their own money to provide some of the gifts for the families. The Friends of Roswell Police Foundation then supplemented the wish lists.

o All gifts were delivered to the families between December 8 and December 23 with the help of RPD Staff and Roswell Fire Department volunteers.
